1. INTRODUCTION

The 2024 Nairobi Declaration on African Fertilizer and Soil Health (AFSH) is a bold statement by African leaders and a commitment to take decisive action to address the soil health crisis facing the continent and its implications for food security and broa der socioeconomic development.

In addition, AUDA - NEPAD was tasked with supporting Regional Economic Communities (RECs) and Member States with the domestication of the AFSH Action Plan into regional and national policies and processes for development and investment planning. AUDA -NEPAD will, therefore, play a leadership and coordination role in the domestication of the Nairobi Declaration and the implementation of the AFSH Action Plan.
