RFx ID: 34842108 Organisation: Auckland Transport Open date: Wednesday, 2 September 2026 5:00 PM +12:00 Close date: Friday, 9 October 2026 10:00 AM +13:00 Categories: 72000000 - Building and Facility Construction and Maintenance Services Region: Auckland Overview: Auckland Transport is looking to appoint a suitable main contractor to deliver the marine and building Contract Works for the Devonport Wharf – Ferry Terminal Renewal Works, a significant infrastructure investment that will strengthen the resilience, safety and customer experience of one of Auckland's busiest ferry terminals. This project presents an opportunity for experienced contractors to partner with Auckland Transport in delivering complex marine and building infrastructure works at a highly visible and strategically important transport hub. A key benefit of this approach is that it enables the Terminal and Pier works to be planned, sequenced, and managed as a single integrated programme. For example, marine and building works programmes can be aligned to ensure both workstreams progress as efficiently as possible. The operational constraints of the wharf and the interdependencies between individual work packages create involved sequencing and scheduling considerations. The Contractor is to manage the work site whilst ensuring the least disruption to the public and operations. The wharf building outside of the works area and Pier 1 ferry berth are to remain live and fully operational during the delivery of the Terminal and Pier 2 works. The Terminal and Pier 2 design packages have been coordinated and have been lodged for Building Consent. Resource Consent for Pier 2 has been granted. The Pier 1 design is at concept stage at the time of tender and has not been included in this RFT. On the completion of Pier 1 design, currently anticipated in Mid-2027, the successful contractor will be invited to price Pier 1 as a Variation to the Contract. The Contractor shall place no reliance or expectation that Auckland Transport will proceed with Pier 1 works.
