RFx ID: 34833232 Organisation: Environment Canterbury Open date: Tuesday, 1 September 2026 1:30 PM +12:00 Close date: Friday, 2 October 2026 5:00 PM +13:00 Categories: 70000000 - Farming and Fishing and Forestry and Wildlife Contracting Services 77000000 - Environmental Services Region: Canterbury Overview: This RFP relates to the procurement of an ecological restoration contractor. The key outcome that we want to achieve is targeted weed control to gain suppression/eradication of key weed species in the catchment, to protect surrounding indigenous biodiversity values and the natural character within the Rakaia Gorge catchment. This is an ongoing project where this opportunity aims to build on the previous 5 years of work. What we need We are seeking one or more contractors to control the ecological weed species identified in each year’s operational plan, with the aim of eradicating or substantially suppressing them across the Rakaia Gorge catchment. Most work is expected to use ground-based methods that minimise impacts on surrounding indigenous vegetation. Some work may require aerial control; if so, please clearly describe the proposed methods in your response.

Before you bid on this tender

A quick checklist to help you decide whether to bid and prepare a compliant submission for this forestry & wildlife opportunity. Always verify the details on the official source.

  • Read the full notice and every attached document, including the scope, specifications and any bill of quantities or terms of reference.
  • Check the eligibility criteria — prior similar experience, annual turnover, certifications and registrations — and make sure you qualify before investing effort.
