Duration of Assignment: Initial period of six (6) months, extendable up to one (1) year,

subject to funding availability and satisfactory performance.

I. Background

The Secretariat of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) and the Government of the Republic of Korea established the Korea – AfCFTA Cooperation Fund (KACF) to support the implementation of the AfCFTA and strengthen economic cooperation between Africa and the Republic of Korea. The Fund supports initiatives in areas including trade facilitation, customs modernization, digital transformation, entrepreneurship development, institutional strengthening, human capital development, and knowledge exchange. One of the initiatives being implemented under the Fund is the Technical Support for Building Research Capacity of the AfCFTA Secretariat Project. The project seek s to strengthen the Secretariat's research, analytical, and data management capabilities through the establishment of a dedicated Research Division to support evidence -based implementation of the AfCFTA.

As implementation of the AfCFTA deepens, the demand for reliable trade statistics, analytical dashboards, implementation monitoring systems, and evidence -based policy

analysis has increased significantly. The Secretariat therefore seeks to strengthen its capacity to collect, manage, analyse, and disseminate data to support decision-making and implementation monitoring.

To support the effective implementation of the project, the AfCFTA Secretariat seeks to engage a Statistics and Data Analyst to support the development of data systems, analytical products, monitoring tools, and research outputs. The Analyst will be based within the Directorate of Coordination and Programmes at the AfCFTA Secretariat in Accra, Ghana.
