The Bharatiya Gyan Quiz on Governance and Statecraft is a national-level monthly quiz open to Indian citizens and focused on India’s traditional knowledge systems, governance traditions and statecraft. Organized by the Indian Knowledge Systems (IKS) Division under the Ministry of Education in collaboration with MyGov, the quiz aims to promote public engagement with India’s rich traditional knowledge heritage. Each month, the quiz explores a specific theme from the Indian Knowledge Systems knowledge domains. The Bharatiya Gyan Quiz is organized as a monthly national-level knowledge competition. Each edition focuses on a particular subject within India’s traditional knowledge systems. The initiative is designed to encourage public participation and make traditional Indian knowledge accessible through an engaging quiz format. The monthly themes provide participants with opportunities to explore different aspects of India’s historical, scientific, cultural, philosophical and intellectual traditions.

This Month’s Theme: Governance and Statecraft

The current edition focuses on traditions of governance and statecraft in India. The quiz draws knowledge and concepts from classical Indian texts, including: - Arthashastra. - Dharmashastra. - Mahabharata. - Ramayana. - Manusmriti. - Nitisara. Participants can explore how these texts addressed questions of governance, political authority, administration, ethics, justice and public welfare. What Topics Does the Quiz Cover? The Governance and Statecraft edition covers a broad range of concepts related to political thought and administration in traditional India.

Prizes and Recognition The top five performers in each month’s quiz will receive recognition and rewards. Each of the top five performers will receive: - An IKS-curated book hamper valued at ₹3,000. - Recognition through IKS social media platforms. - Recognition through official IKS communication platforms. - An opportunity to attend an IKS event held in India, subject to the event schedule and nature. In addition, every participant will receive an e-certificate of participation. Who Can Participate? The quiz is open to all Indian citizens. There is no restriction based on profession or educational background in the eligibility information provided for the quiz. However, employees involved in organizing the quiz and their immediate family members are not eligible to participate. Who Is Not Eligible? The following individuals cannot participate: - Employees involved in organizing the quiz. - Immediate family members of employees involved in organizing the quiz.

How Are Winners Selected? The winners are selected through a system-generated randomization method. To be eligible for the winner selection process, participants must: - Answer all questions correctly. - Complete the quiz within the stipulated time. - Follow the participation rules. This means that answering all questions correctly does not necessarily mean that every participant will receive a prize. Where multiple participants achieve a perfect score within the required time, the system-generated randomization method is used to select the top performers. Important Participation Rules
