AI Ignite Lab: Empowering Youth in AI and Social Good

The Stevens Initiative AI Ignite Lab is a pioneering program designed to equip young individuals from the United States and the United Arab Emirates with skills in artificial intelligence (AI) and emerging technologies for social impact. This initiative, a collaboration between the Stevens Initiative at the Aspen Institute and Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence (MBZUAI), offers participants a unique opportunity to engage in cross-cultural collaboration and digital storytelling. Applications are open until 24 September 2026. The AI Ignite Lab aims to harness the potential of AI and emerging technologies to address real-world challenges. The program focuses on developing participants’ skills in AI-supported problem-solving, design thinking, and leadership through a four-week virtual Learning Lab and an intensive two-day Ideas Lab. Participants will collaborate across cultures to design and implement projects that benefit their communities. Participants will receive financial support for their Day of Action projects, enabling them to apply their learning in practical, community-focused initiatives. This funding is contingent upon having a bank account capable of receiving transfers from U.S. organizations. The program supports activities that leverage AI and emerging technologies for social good. Participants will focus on community needs, generating innovative solutions, and implementing projects that have a tangible impact.
