Background Information

Central Highland Regional Council (CHRC or Council) is seeking qualified and experienced suppliers to carry out various Works.

These Works are made available as Separable Portions and comprise of:

1. Concreting;

2. Plumbing;

3. Roofing;

4. Fencing & Gates;

5. Brickwork;

6. Electrical;

7. Painting;

8. Grouting;

9. Modular Veterinary Room, Toilet & Office; and

10. Storage Shipping Containers

These upgrades are being made to the Emerald Animal Management Centre (AMC). The AMC is located adjacent to the exit gate from the Central Highland Regional Council Works Depot in Emerald and is located at:

• 23 Batts Street, Emerald Qld 4720

Particulars of Goods and Services

A. Works Within the AMC Compound

Works stipulated for the upgrade, repair, and renewal within the AMC compound are detailed in the Response Schedule, Scope of Works in this Specification Document and the Council supplied Upgrade Drawings x Eleven (11).

Areas within the AMC receiving these Goods and Services include:

• Inside existing Dog Kennel Building – Kennels No 1 to 13;

• New outside Exercise Pens with insulated roof panels – Pens 1 to 9;

• New Boundary fencing;

• New Internal fencing;

• New Sanitary Drainage from Dog Kennel Building, Exercise Pens & Veterinary Room, Toilet & Office;

• New Trade Waste Septic Tank;

• New Pump Well;

• Electrical Works;

• Remove Central Stormwater Drain at front of Dog Kennel Building;

• Install repair mortar, rapid screed and waterproof membrane to inside Dog Kennel Building floors;

• Install waterproof membrane to outside exercise pen floors;

• Remove and renew front and side Concrete paths;

• New Vehicle Unloading Area trafficable concrete slab;

• New Modular Veterinary Room, Toilet & Office;

• Decommission existing trade waste septic tank & pump well;

• Pressure pipe connection to pressure rising main;

• New storage shipping container x one (1);

• Relocate existing Cattery shipping container from rear to front of AMC; and

• New front gate, side maintenance access gate and rear access gate.

C. Pricing Schedule

A Separable Portion Response Schedule has been prepared for use by the Contractor to accurately include and easily total costings in a discernible manner.

This will in turn allow for the following:

1. Easy assessment of comparative cost break downs and pricing for different Separable Portions;

2. Preparation of progress claims with easily identifiable Asset Components and Trades; and

3. Contractors are encouraged to Tender for some or all Separable Portions
