The permanent contract works include: • Operation and maintenance of the temporary bypass for the duration of construction. • Demolition and removal of the existing bridge. • Construction of a new two-lane 75m long (nominal), three span bridge over the Rapahoe Branch line, north of Greymouth (SH6), on a similar road alignment. • Ground improvement using large diameter piles for long-term stability. of mechanically stabilised earth retaining wall. • Ground improvement/pinning for temporary and permanent embankment stability and construction of mechanically stabilised earth retaining wall. • General earthworks associated with the bridge approaches. • Pavement, surfacing and traffic services. • Miscellaneous drainage works. • Removal of the temporary bypass and associated rehabilitation. Only tenderers pre-qualified to level 3B Bridge Construction and 4B Construction, Kiwirail Pre-Qualification Tier 1 & 2 under the terms of the Transport Agency’s Prequalification System are eligible to submit a tender.
