Details

Dear Bidder,

The International Labour Office (ILO) seeks an individual external collaborator to prepare an analytical paper for the edited volume “Voices and Insights on Social Protection and Migration in the GCC–South Asia Corridor”.

The assignment will examine diverse and emerging forms of employment in the GCC, including de facto self-employment, platform work, “free-visa” and self-sponsored work, temporary agency work and outsourcing arrangements. It will assess workers’ social protection needs and gaps, shortcomings of existing systems and policy priorities for destination and origin countries. Migrant workers will be the primary focus, with explicit consideration of relevance to nationals.

The work will combine a regional desk review, selected country examples, available data and targeted consultations, including worker experiences where feasible and safe. The main output will be an 8,000–10,000-word paper with actionable recommendations and questions for regional dialogue. The proposed duration is two calendar months, with exact dates and working days to be confirmed.

Please submit your technical approach, relevant experience and writing sample, proposed workplan and working days, and financial proposal by the deadline specified in the advertisement.

Thank you.

Before you bid on this tender

A quick checklist to help you decide whether to bid and prepare a compliant submission for this social development & inclusion opportunity. Always verify the details on the official source.

  • Confirm the exact closing date and time (and time zone) on the official portal — deadlines are strict and can be revised by a corrigendum.
  • Read the full notice and every attached document, including the scope, specifications and any bill of quantities or terms of reference.
  • Check the eligibility criteria — prior similar experience, annual turnover, certifications and registrations — and make sure you qualify before investing effort.
  • Prepare any earnest-money deposit (EMD) or bid security and the required formats early; missing or wrongly-formatted documents are a common cause of rejection.
