Ipswich City Council (Council) covers an area of 1,090 square kilometres with a population of approximately 190,000 people. Council is responsible for a range of services and facilities in the local area. In March 2025, the community of Ipswich was affected by Tropical Cyclone Alfred, which led to flooding causing damage to Council assets. Several sealed roads have been selected in this tender to be restored to their pre-event condition. This event was declared eligible under the Disaster Relief Funding Arrangements (DRFA), allowing recovery works to be undertaken to restore damaged road infrastructure across the LGA.
