In januari 2026 is het omgevingsplan Valkenhorst onherroepelijk vastgesteld en medio maart 2026 is de eerste verkoop van drie ontwikkelvelden gestart. Voor de verdere ontwikkeling van Valkenhorst zoekt het Rijksvastgoedbedrijf middels een raamovereenkomst (ROK) drie ingenieursbureaus die het Rijksvastgoedbedrijf gedurende de komende vier tot zes jaar ondersteunen bij de verdere planuitwerking en bij de voorbereiding en begeleiding van de eerste uitvoeringscontracten.
