Details

The International Finance Corporation (“IFC”), the private sector investment arm of the World Bank Group (“WBG”), pursues its mission of reducing poverty and improving people’s lives by promoting private sector development through private capital mobilization and advisory services. IFC seeks the services of a qualified consultant (the “Consultant”) to help IFC in its efforts to scale up its investments and impact in the Manufacturing, Agribusiness and Services (“MAS”) sectors in three Western Balkans countries, namely Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and North Macedonia (the “Target Countries”). In the Target Countries, many companies need long-term growth capital for capacity expansion, modernization, energy and resource efficiency, and export growth that local banks are often unable to provide in the amount, tenor, currency or structure required. This assignment is intended to help IFC identify such companies early and engage with them in a structured and transparent way. The objective of this assignment is to (i) deliver a concise overview of emerging industry trends across key MAS sub‑sectors in the Target Countries; (ii) map and screen locally owned and internationally sponsored companies operating in the selected sectors; (iii) assess preliminary creditworthiness, ownership quality, investment capacity; (iv) prioritize and shortlist the candidates for IFC debt and/or equity investment or IFC advisory support; (v) following IFC’s written clearance, carry out initial outreach to approved companies using IFC-agreed messages, validate financing or advisory interest, and arrange introduction meetings with IFC; and (vi) support IFC in developing 3-5 bankable investment leads in each of the Target Countries .
