Udbuddet er et genudbud, da det oprindelige udbud blev annulleret (ved bekendtgørelse 286523-2026), idet FMI vurderede, at produkterne og ydelserne omfattet af kontrakten kunne konkurrenceudsættes mere hensigtsmæssigt.

Aftalen omfatter den løbende produktion og reparation af Forsvarets, Hjemmeværnets og Ministeriet for samfundssikkerhed og beredskabets faner i en længere kontraktperiode på 12 år. Formålet med Aftalen er at etablere et tæt samarbejde mellem Forsvarets Materiel- og Indkøbsstyrelse ("FMI") og Leverandøren om produktion af nye danske faner (Initialanskaffelse) samt løbende udskiftning og reparationer af eksisterende og nye faner (faste årlige anskaffelser og optionelle årlige anskaffelser) i hele aftalens løbetid (Produktions- og Reparationsfasen).
