Questions and Answers. Q1: Seed must be dry after treatment: We do not recommend drying the coated seeds within the seed treater as this causes the coating to wear away. A1: This is understandable; we don't want wet seed going in planting packets. We plant shortly after treatment (within a few days) and the coating isn't on long.

Q2: Employees should not need to handle seed after treatment.

A2: A different way to say this could be "employees should not need to handle unpacketed, treated seed after treatment". We currently do have to do this, and it's the main reason I would like a seed treater, personal safety.

Q3: What kind of treatment are you planning to apply. Only one liquid per batch or several (how many) liquids per batch?

A3: We use one type of treatment only. It's a liquid treatment that dries on the seed (a coating of fungicide/insecticide) - a few days prior to planting. We only treat seed once. Description - This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Part 12.  This announcement constitutes the only solicitation.  Quotations are being requested and a separate written solicitation will not be issued.
