SCOPE OF TENDER

The following activities are the main scope of this requirement: Conducting gap analysis and adapt/ develop the module for training of trainers program for teachers and other concerned stakeholders from 20 districts in the State. Conducting 3-days Training of Trainers (TOT) programme in a clustered manner with 50 master trainers being developed for all districts (20) by providing intense hands on training across three days, at the end of which the trainee will have to be qualified as a master trainer in school safety. Developing School DM Plans for the listed schools and formation of School-level DM Committees, DM Calendar, Hazard Vulnerability Assessment of the schools, Identification of safe assembly place, and other relevant components as per national and sub-national guidelines with a focus upon local context. Creating school safety disaster management plan for 20 schools through a detailed participatory process at the school with the relevant stakeholders, and training officials of the education departments, BDOs, and local NGOs in developing SDMPs. The list of the schools as shortlisted by the UT Government will be provided by UNDP Developing a training calendar with the education department and the SDMA to map out the timelines for covering atleast 70% of schools with the trained TOTs. Creating a School Safety Manual in the local language and English consisting of information on how to develop a school DM plan, methodology for creation and updation of school safety plans, template of the plan, etc. This would include the best practices from countries like New Zealand, Japan etc where School safety has been made an integral part of Disaster Mitigation. Conduct mock drill and simulation exercises (such as safe evacuation) for all the selected 20 schools. Preparing and uploading information on various aspects of school safety as well as proformas of school disaster management plans online by all schools in the UT on the Central Portal.
