Please note that this is a planned Procurement notice only and not the start of the tender. A Tender notice will be published on or after the 30th September 2026 to commence the tender opportunity and for suppliers to Bid. Sussex Police, under the Authority of the Police and Crime Commissioner for Sussex, will be tendering for the provision of a Night Safety Marshall Scheme contract with a start date of 1st April 2027, for 1 year with the option to extend by a further 2 x 12 month extensions (ultimate expiry date will be 31 March 2030) This will be for the provision of Night Safety Marshals in Brighton and Hove Only. Aim of the Night Safety Marshal Scheme: Increasing public safety and confidence Reducing demand on emergency services Overall reduction in serious violence and knife crime Increase Partnership working.

Night Safety Marshal Scheme objectives:

To protect our communities by identifying the vulnerable and ensuring they are kept safe. To prevent serious violence with early intervention and the removal of threat. To reduce violence against women and girls. Work alongside local businesses and partner agencies (e.g. Local Authorities, Crime Reduction Partnerships etc.) to make our communities feel safe. The scheme will be to deploy 8 Marshalls in high harm locations identified by Sussex Police at peak hours of 20:00-04:00 on Friday and Saturdays. To deliver the Night Safety Marshal Scheme, whilst the Successful Supplier does not have to be a Security Industry Authority (SIA) approved supplier, the marshals deployed as part of the Scheme must be and hold valid SIA Door Supervisor Accreditation. The budget envelope will be £120,000 excluding VAT per annum. Further information will be available when the Procurement Notice is published along with the Tender pack. Please also note that this opportunity is subject to Home Office funding which will not be confirmed until early 2027, Any contract awarded will be subject to the confirmation of funding. If funding is not received then any awarded contract will be cancelled. Any extension under the contract will be subject to Home Office continued funding.
