Details

Navy Training Authority Initial Training Leadership and Management (TA-ITLM) requires a suitably qualified Supplier to develop and deliver the Navy Way Point program. The program is designed to complement the current Navy Senior Leadership Program (NSLP) and other existing career professional development offerings. In order to provide a more career-focused professional development opportunity for Captains, particularly those who are new to the Canberra environment, Navy is seeking a reality-based program with a focus on participant interaction, containing practical exercises based on real world scenarios. The aim of the Way Point Program is to develop the ability of selected senior officers to comprehend the strategic environment and to provide influential, Joint and Whole of Australian Government (WoAG) options that support Government strategic objectives. The course should develop participants' strategic comprehension, thinking and communication skills, and the behaviours and attitudes needed to be effective as a commander or senior staff officer in a Joint, Defence and WoAG team. The program should include a broad range of highly experienced presenters from across the national security spectrum, with the intent to provide officers new to the Canberra environment, with the skills and confidence operating with influence in Joint, Defence, WoAG and international environments. Each Navy Way Point program shall be five (5) days in length for up to 24 participants. Taking place in Canberra once per calendar year, with delivery in Q2 (April-June).

Before you bid on this tender

A quick checklist to help you decide whether to bid and prepare a compliant submission for this defence & security opportunity. Always verify the details on the official source.

  • Confirm the exact closing date and time (and time zone) on the official portal — deadlines are strict and can be revised by a corrigendum.
  • Read the full notice and every attached document, including the scope, specifications and any bill of quantities or terms of reference.
  • Check the eligibility criteria — prior similar experience, annual turnover, certifications and registrations — and make sure you qualify before investing effort.
  • Prepare any earnest-money deposit (EMD) or bid security and the required formats early; missing or wrongly-formatted documents are a common cause of rejection.
  • Note how bids must be submitted (online or physical), in what format, and whether a digital signature or portal registration is required.
  • Watch for corrigenda and clarifications right up to the deadline — requirements and dates can change.
