MICC Construction of the Mount Isa Miners Memorial and Frank Aston Hill Activation Project

Mount Isa City Council (MICC) is inviting tenders from suitably qualified and experienced contractors to undertake the construction of the Mount Isa Miners Memorial and Frank Aston Hill Activation Project at Frank Aston Hill, Marian Street, Mount Isa.

The works comprise the construction of the Mount Isa Miners Memorial and associated public-realm improvements, together with the Frank Aston Hill activation works, in accordance with the drawings, specifications, and other documents issued with this Request for Tender.

Background information / Compatibility requirements

The project will create a dedicated memorial and accessible community space that recognises Mount Isa’s mining heritage. The works generally include site preparation and demolition, civil and structural works, memorial and interpretive elements, amphitheatre terraces, shade structures, accessible pathways, lighting and services, landscaping, irrigation and associated hill-activation works.

The completed project must be safe, durable, suitable for public use and appropriate for Mount Isa’s local climatic conditions. All works must be completed in accordance with the Contract, applicable legislation, relevant Australian Standards and MICC requirements.
