Background information / Compatibility requirements

The proposed Logan Indoor Sports Centre (LISC) has been identified as a host venue for the 2032 Brisbane Olympic and Paralympic Games (the Games) and will be located within Logan Central which is the cultural and civic heart of Logan.

LISC addresses an identified service need and provides a fit-for-purpose facility that delivers a significant uplift in the number of indoor sports courts in Logan. The venue will enhance the local area, providing economic opportunities and enhanced amenity to a rapidly growing area of south-east Queensland.

LISC will help to provide the following benefits:

- increased local sporting opportunities and pathways;

- healthier lifestyles and choices, providing improved local liveability;

- more cohesive, inclusive and safe community;

- business attraction and local employment opportunities; and

- positive Games experience for participants and spectators.

The LISC will be owned and operated by Logan City Council (LCC), delivering a lasting legacy for the region through enhanced tourism, economic development, and increased opportunities for community engagement and active recreation.

The Games Independent Infrastructure and Coordination Authority (GIICA) has appointed a Principal Consultant to complete the Preliminary and Schematic Design, with the Delivery Contractor responsible for detailed design development and construction delivery of the Project.

Desired Outcomes ('Nice to haves', Conditions & Warranties, SLA's, Project benefits): GIICA (the Principal) has issued this EOI with the following objectives:

- to engage a suitably qualified Delivery Contractor to deliver the Project;

- to ensure high standards of probity, transparency, and compliance with all relevant government and operational policies;

- to maximise commercial, social, and local benefits through the delivery of the Project; and

- to facilitate the shortlisting of Respondents through the EOI process, with selected parties being invited to participate as Tenderers in the subsequent ITO Phase.

In delivering the Works, the Applicant will need to demonstrate its approach to a range of construction aspects across the full project lifecycle. The Works will require the investigation, protection and integration of interfacing infrastructure, including coordination with relevant stakeholders, alongside the management of environmental and cultural heritage requirements and the clearing and management of vegetation in accordance with the applicable authority obligations.
