Call for Proposals: Small-Scale Projects in Vietnam 2027

The Embassy of the Czech Republic in Hanoi is inviting proposals for its annual Small-Scale Projects (SSP) call under Czech bilateral development cooperation. Supported projects must address a local development priority, include a clear development dimension, and produce verifiable results with sustainable benefits. Application deadline: 31 October 2026 (final; no extension). This annual SSP call supports small-scale initiatives that respond to local development priorities in Vietnam. Projects must qualify as Official Development Assistance (ODA) under OECD/DAC rules. This requirement relates to the project, including its planned outputs and outcomes. Projects should address a local development priority and have a clear development dimension. All activities and related costs must be completed by 31 October 2027. 1) What is the deadline for submitting an SSP proposal in Vietnam 2027?

The application deadline is 31 October 2026. The Embassy states the deadline is final and cannot be extended.

2) How much funding can a project receive under this call?

Each project may receive CZK 250,000–500,000, inclusive of a 3% exchange-rate reserve. Co-funding is welcome.

3) What are the limits on support (management/administration) costs?

Support costs must not exceed 8% of the Czech-funded project budget, and general overheads such as office rent, utilities, or internet services are not eligible.

4) What locations and applicant types are eligible?

Applicants must be local entities with legal personality in Vietnam authorized to receive Czech development cooperation funds. Eligible applicants may include NGOs/non-profits, educational/health/social/cultural institutions, cooperatives, and local/regional authorities. Central government authorities, political parties/movements, and profit-generating entities are not eligible.

5) Are projects required to qualify as ODA?

Yes. Projects must qualify as official development assistance (ODA) under OECD/DAC rules.

6) When must activities and payments be completed?

All activities and related costs must be completed by 31 October 2027, and payments are subject to the contract and instalment rules described by the Embassy.

7) Can funding be paid in advance?

No. Funding cannot be paid in full in advance. Instalments may cover no more than three months and may not exceed 50% of the approved Czech-funded budget; further payments require settlement of the previous instalment. If your organization is a Vietnam-based entity with legal personality and the proposed project can meet the ODA requirement, review the Identification Form and submission checklist and prepare your proposal using the prescribed template.
