Details

The City of St. John’s is seeking submissions from qualified engineering firms, licensed to practice in the Province of NL, for engineering services for the Southlands Water Transmission Main Upgrading project. This project consists of the twinning of an existing 750mm diameter water transmission main with a new 900mm diameter water transmission main that extends approximately 3425m from the Ruby Line Pump Station to the Southlands Reservoirs. The successful proponent will be required to provide a wide range of design and administrative services for the duration of the project, including but not limited to the review of existing information, collection of field information, completion of detailed design, preparation of contract drawings and specifications for tender call, pre-tender cost estimating, provision of tender support services, provision of contract administration services and field inspection services during construction, as well as the preparation of an as-built completions package. The engineering and detailed design work are expected to begin in December of 2026, and completed in time for a March 2027 tender call, such that construction can begin in April of 2027.
