RFx ID: 34908926 Organisation: Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment Open date: Thursday, 10 September 2026 12:00 PM +12:00 Close date: Friday, 23 October 2026 5:00 PM +13:00 Categories: 90120000 - Travel facilitation Region: International Overview: The Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE), through New Zealand Government Procurement (NZGP), is advising the market of its intention to commence procurement for the next generation All-of-Government (AoG) Travel Management Services solution in early 2027. On 22 March 2019, MBIE established the current AoG Travel Management Services contract. On 24 June 2025, MBIE exercised the final two-year extension option under the agreement, which took effect on 26 June 2026. The contract is currently scheduled to expire on 25 June 2028. The current AoG Travel Management Services arrangement provides government agencies with access to travel management providers for booking and managing business travel throughout New Zealand and internationally. As the travel industry continues to evolve, customer expectations, technology capabilities, reporting requirements, traveller wellbeing considerations, sustainability objectives, and value-for-money expectations are also changing. NZGP is now planning for the future delivery of outsourced travel management services and is seeking to establish a modern, effective, and future-focused solution that meets the evolving needs of government agencies and travellers. The upcoming procurement will provide an opportunity for providers to help shape the future of government travel services through innovative solutions that support efficient travel management, enhanced traveller experience, and deliver economic benefits for agencies and New Zealand. Over the coming months, NZGP expects to undertake market engagement activities to better understand current market capabilities, emerging trends, and opportunities for innovation. Further information regarding these activities, the proposed procurement approach, indicative timelines, and transition arrangements will be provided as planning progresses. As part of this process, NZGP anticipates that the current AoG agreement may conclude ahead of its contractual end date to enable a smooth transition to the next-generation solution. Providers with relevant travel management expertise and capabilities are encouraged to monitor the Government Electronic Tenders Service (GETS) for future updates. NZGP looks forward to engaging with the market and working collaboratively to deliver the next generation of travel management services for New Zealand government agencies.
