Details

RFx ID: 35226159 Organisation: Selwyn District Council Open date: Thursday, 15 October 2026 4:30 PM +13:00 Close date: Thursday, 12 November 2026 4:00 PM +13:00 Categories: 72000000 - Building and Facility Construction and Maintenance Services Region: Canterbury Overview: This Contract comprises the construction of a new single-lane roundabout at the intersection of Selwyn Road and Springston Rolleston Road, including the provision of shared path connections and associated infrastructure works. The project is intended to improve the safety, efficiency, and accessibility of this key transport corridor while supporting current and future growth within the surrounding communities. The intersection is located at the southern extent of the Rolleston urban area and forms part of an important transport link between the growing townships of Rolleston to the north and Lincoln to the south. Springston Rolleston Road currently operates as the priority route through the intersection and experiences significant commuter traffic volumes. The surrounding land uses present a range of stakeholder and interface considerations, including the Selwyn Road Sewer Pump Station within the south-western quadrant, school land to the north-west, residential properties to the north-east, and rural pastoral land to the south-east. Scope of Works The works include, but are not limited to: • Earthworks and pavement construction associated with the new roundabout and approach roads. • Construction of stormwater infrastructure. • Piping and reinstatement of existing stockwater races. • Liaison and coordination with utility providers, including protection, modification, and installation of services as required. • Construction of carriageways, kerbs and channels. • Construction of shared pathways, cycle facilities, footpaths, and vehicle crossings. • Construction of splitter islands, traffic islands, and associated traffic restraint features. • Installation of road markings and traffic signage. • Landscaping works including garden beds, planting areas, specimen trees, shrubs, grasses, groundcovers, mulching, and tree staking. • Traffic management, erosion and sediment control, noise management, survey set-out, and associated temporary works. • Maintenance of all landscaped and grassed areas for a period of 24 months following Practical Completion. • All ancillary works necessary to deliver a fully completed and operational project in accordance with the contract documentation. • Coordination of street lighting installation by Connetics, including integration of these works within the overall construction programme and management of associated construction interfaces.
