Details

RFx ID: 35222261 Organisation: Hamilton City Council Open date: Thursday, 15 October 2026 9:00 AM +13:00 Close date: Thursday, 5 November 2026 5:00 PM +13:00 Categories: 49000000 - Sports and Recreational Equipment and Supplies and Accessories 70111700 - Parks and gardens and orchards 72154000 - Specialty building and trades services Region: Waikato Overview: Hamilton City Council is seeking an experienced contractor to design and construct two synthetic-turf football fields at Gower Park, Hamilton Kirikiriroa. Demand for football and other winter field sports is increasing, while wet weather continues to affect the availability and reliability of natural-turf fields. This project will provide additional all-weather capacity on Fields 3 and 4 and support reliable, year-round community participation. The successful contractor will deliver an integrated design-and-build solution covering design coordination, earthworks, drainage and stormwater management, pavement construction, synthetic turf, permitted natural infill, shockpads, fencing, gates, accessways and associated civil, electrical and landscape works. The work also includes independent testing, certification, commissioning, rectification, warranties, asset information, operation and maintenance documentation, training and handover. Council is seeking a safe, operational and maintainable facility with strong whole-of-life performance. Respondents must demonstrate relevant specialist experience, programme certainty, effective management of interfaces with park users and neighbouring properties, practical environmental controls, clear risk management, and measurable Economic Benefit and Local Participation. Council will not accept proposals limited to an individual turf component or which do not address the complete design-and-build solution. SBR, EPDM, TPE and other prohibited polymeric performance infills will not be accepted. Physical construction must be completed before the period reserved for testing, certification, required rectification, completion documentation and handover. The contract is expected to be based on NZS 3916. This is a single-stage, open competitive RFP.
