1. The Government of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka has applied for financing from the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB or the Bank) toward the cost of the New Habarana – Kappalthurai Transmission Grid Expansion Project and intends to apply part of the proceeds toward payments under the contract for Lot A: Construction of New Habarana – Kappalthurai 220 kV Transmission Line 2. The National Transmission Network Service Provider (Private) Limited now invites sealed Tenders from eligible Tenderers for the Design, Supply, Construction, Erection, Stringing, Testing, and Commissioning of a 220 kV double-circuit, three-phase transmission line. The transmission line will utilize High -Temperature Low -Sag (HTLS) conductors in a twin -bundle configuration (two subconductors per phase) and will incorporate two Optical Fibre Ground Wires (OPGW). The transmission line will extend approximately 77 km from the existing New Habarana 220/132 kV Switching Station to the existing Kappalthurai 220(132)/33 kV Grid Substation. The Contract duration is Seven Hundred Thirty days (730) from the Effective Date. 3. Tendering will be conducted through International Open Competitive Tendering (IOCT) procedures as specified in the Bank’s Directive on Procurement Instructions for Recipients (PIR) and is open to all eligible Tenderers as defined in the PIR.
