The SHRF Mobilize Grant Connections Program supports researchers, health practitioners and non-profit organizations in Saskatchewan undertaking knowledge mobilization activities that improve the use, relevance and impact of health research. The program is designed to bridge the gap between research and real-world practice by helping researchers, practitioners and knowledge-users work together to move evidence into practice and decision-making. Funding of up to $10,000 is available for projects with a maximum duration of 12 months. Applicants are not required to provide matching funds.

The SHRF Mobilize Grant Connections Program is designed to strengthen connections between health research and the people and organizations that can use research findings in real-world settings. The program supports activities that help: - Move health research evidence into practice. - Improve the applicability of health research. - Increase the real-world impact of research. - Build relationships between researchers and practitioners. - Engage knowledge-users in research and knowledge-sharing. - Incorporate lived experiences and other relevant forms of knowledge. - Strengthen evidence-informed decision-making. The program recognizes that research can have greater impact when researchers collaborate directly with practitioners, communities and other knowledge-users. Funding Available

12 months Applicants do not need to provide matching funds. This allows eligible organizations and teams to undertake knowledge mobilization activities without having to secure equivalent financial contributions from other sources. What Is Knowledge Mobilization? Knowledge mobilization involves moving research knowledge beyond academic settings so that it can be understood, integrated and used by people who can apply it. Under this program, knowledge mobilization may involve activities that help integrate health research findings into: - Health practice. - Organizational decision-making. - Policy and planning. - Community settings. - Professional practice. - Other real-world environments. The focus is on making health research more useful and applicable to the people and organizations who can benefit from it. What Types of Activities Can Be Supported? Applicants may propose activities that facilitate the use and integration of health research knowledge into practice and decision-making.

Supported activities may also:

- Bring researchers and practitioners together. - Engage knowledge-users throughout the research process. - Incorporate lived experience into research or knowledge mobilization. - Incorporate traditional knowledge where relevant. - Support knowledge-sharing between academic and non-academic participants. - Develop relationships that strengthen the use of health evidence. - Translate research findings into forms that are useful for practice or decision-making. The proposed activities should have a clear connection to improving the applicability or impact of health research. Engaging Knowledge-Users The program encourages meaningful involvement of knowledge-users in research and knowledge-sharing activities. Knowledge-users can contribute practical experience and help researchers understand how evidence can be applied outside academic environments. Projects may therefore involve collaboration between: - Researchers. - Health practitioners. - Community organizations. - Non-academic professionals. - Other relevant knowledge-users. Using Lived Experience and Traditional Knowledge Applicants may incorporate relevant knowledge beyond conventional academic research.

This can include:

- Lived experiences. - Community knowledge. - Traditional knowledge. - Practical knowledge from health practitioners. - Other relevant forms of knowledge. Incorporating these perspectives can help ensure that research knowledge is relevant to the communities and settings in which it is intended to be used. Indigenous Health and Wellness Dedicated year-round funding is available for projects that build relationships and partnerships with Indigenous peoples to promote health and wellness through healing and reconciliation. These projects can focus on relationship-building and collaborative approaches that recognize the importance of Indigenous perspectives and partnerships in health and wellness. Applicants proposing Indigenous-focused projects should demonstrate how their activities contribute to meaningful relationships, partnerships, healing and reconciliation. Research Areas The grant is open to any area of human health. Applicants are therefore not restricted to a particular disease, health condition, population or research discipline, provided the proposed work falls within human health and aligns with the program’s knowledge mobilization objectives. Who Can Apply? The program is intended for eligible researchers, health practitioners and non-profit organizations in Saskatchewan.

The Principal Applicant must:

- Reside in Saskatchewan during the funding period. - Work in Saskatchewan during the funding period. - Not be a trainee. - Hold a position that enables them to promote evidence-based health knowledge and practices on behalf of their organization. - Work toward a public benefit through their organization. The Principal Applicant must therefore have an organizational role that allows them to promote and support evidence-based health knowledge and practices. Eligible Organizations

Eligible organizations include:

- Post-secondary institutions with an MOU with SHRF. - Registered charities. - Non-profit organizations. Organizations applying through an institution or organization without an MOU with SHRF may need to provide additional documentation concerning their charitable status and financial administration.
