De gemeente Aa en Hunze (‘de gemeente’) is voornemens om te starten met de ontwikkeling van een nieuwe woonwijk in Gieterveen, gelegen achter het Vonderpad. In dit gebied worden maximaal 40 woningen gerealiseerd, met een heldere stedenbouwkundige structuur die aansluit op het omliggende veenkoloniale landschap.

Als onderdeel van deze gebiedsontwikkeling wil de gemeente 18 percelen verkopen voor woningbouw. Het gaat om 18 halfvrijstaande woningen op percelen van circa 250 tot 300 m² (deel 2 op onderstaande afbeelding). Om dit project als één samenhangend geheel te ontwikkelen, heeft de gemeente besloten een selectieprocedure te organiseren en een ontwikkelaar met architect(en) te contracteren voor een integrale gebiedsontwikkeling.
