1. Background to Iziko

Iziko Museums of South Africa is a Schedule 3A public entity and non-profit organisation,

partly subsidised by the National Department of Sport, Arts and Culture. Iziko brings

together national museums and a Social History Centre situated in the Western Cape under a single governance and leadership structure. Iziko operates within a public finance environment and must ensure that procurement and expenditure deliver value for money, support the institution’s mandate, and comply with applicable legislation, policies and internal controls. In the context of fiscal pressure, constrained resources and heightened governance expectations, Iziko requires a focused procurement analytics and value -for-money review to identify wastage, suspicious procurement patterns and opportunities for improvement.
