The project "Integrated Sustainable Landscape Management through Deforestation-Free Jurisdiction Project in Lam Dong, Vietnam" (iLandscape Project) is financed by the European Union (EU) to enhance environmental sustainability, social inclusion, and the resilience and adaptation of agricultural production systems and supply chains in the Central Highlands of Viet Nam. The effective implementation of the Project not only carries local significance for Lam Dong territory but also affirms the role and readiness of Viet Nam in the process of deep integration into global environmental and social standards . Within the framework of the iLandscape project, UNDP is seeking a domestic firm to conduct business and financial skills training for farmers and cooperative/producer groups participating in sustainable market-oriented agricultural commodity chains .

OBJECTIVES OF THE ASSIGNMENT

The overall objective of this assignment is to select a qualified national firm/organization to provide technical assistance and capacity-building activities that enhance the business skills, financial literacy, market readiness, and investment attraction capabilities of smallholders, cooperative groups, and collaborative alliances within the key commodity value chains (coffee, durian, macadamia, etc.) focusing on but not solely limited to the 16 target communes of the iLandscape project in Lam Dong.

Specific objectives include:

  • Capacity building (Output 3.2 of the project): Conduct tailored business and financial management training sessions for at least 450 farmers and key leaders from 10 selected cooperatives/producer groups, utilizing participatory and adult-learning methodologies.
  • Investment promotion & financial linkages (Output 3.3 of the project): Guide and coach the 10 selected cooperatives to develop "bankable" investment portfolios, structure viable business plans, and bridge the gap with commercial banks (such as Agribank or equivalents) and "lead firms" for sustainable supply chain integration.
  • Synthesization: Document all field-level practices, lessons learned, and business model evaluations into comprehensive synthesis reports to support provincial-level advocacy, public-private dialogues, and scaling-up of the integrated sustainable landscape approach.
