Details

Non-governmental organizations (NGOs) in Ukraine are invited to apply for a unique opportunity to enhance their strategic planning through foresight. This opportunity is offered by Stabilization Support Services in partnership with the Swedish MAD Transformation Lab, with financial support from the Swedish Institute. Applications are open until 24 October 2026. The “Democratize the Future” program aims to empower Ukrainian NGOs by providing strategic foresight training. This method enables organizations to explore potential future scenarios, identify risks and opportunities, and make informed decisions in uncertain environments. The program involves training sessions led by experts, including Emilie Ekblad from MAD Transformation Lab and Olga Riznichenko from Stabilization Support Services. Participants in this program will receive free training in strategic foresight, allowing them to address real-world challenges with a group of peers. The program culminates in the creation of scenarios and recommendations that organizations can use in their strategic planning processes. A final forum will be held in Lviv on 27 February 2027 to discuss session outcomes. Organizations are encouraged to bring forth real strategic challenges that they face. The program supports a wide range of activities, as long as they involve strategic planning and foresight. This initiative addresses the need for strategic foresight in the Ukrainian NGO sector, which often operates in reactive modes. By participating, organizations can prepare for multiple future scenarios and enhance their strategic resilience. Who can apply for this opportunity? NGOs and non-profit organizations based in Ukraine are eligible to apply. What is the deadline for applications? The application deadline is 24 October 2026. Is there a cost to participate in the program? No, participation in the program is free of charge. What kind of strategic challenges are suitable for this program? Any strategic challenge that involves uncertainty and requires planning for multiple future scenarios is suitable. Where can I find the application form? The application form is available here. Interested NGOs should review the official guidelines and submit their applications before the deadline.
