De UU beschikt over circa 700 zuurkasten op het Utrecht Science Park (USP), verspreid over 15 gebouwen. Het driejaarlijks reinigen, keuren en indien nodig herstellen van de zuurkasten besteden wij aan. De meeste zuurkasten staan in laboratoria, enkele in werkplaatsen. De leeftijd van de zuurkasten varieert en de variatie in merken en typen zuurkasten is groot. In het PvE is de inhoud van de opdracht verder uitgewerkt. De geraamde waarde van het reinigen en keuren van de zuurkasten is €104.500,- exclusief btw per jaar. Indien de volledige looptijd van 10 jaar wordt gebruikt komt dit op een totale raming van €1.045.000,- exclusief btw.
