Details

With funding from the European Union, the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in collaboration with the United Nations Capital Development Fund (UNCDF) is implementing a project Sustainable Tourism Value Chain Initiative intended to strengthen the enabling environment for tourism, improve the competitiveness and investment readiness of tourism enterprises and communities, and expand access to finance for sustainable tourism products, technologies and practices.

With support from the European Union, UNDP will complement the Governments efforts to prepare the Tourism Development Master Plan 2027–2042 by providing targeted technical and analytical support in areas that require additional evidence, specialist analysis and detailed planning. The assignment will generate technical inputs that can be incorporated into the Master Plan being prepared under the leadership of MTWA and its appointed consulting firm. The objective of this assignment is to provide high-quality, evidence-based technical inputs to support the Ministry of Tourism, Wildlife and Antiquities and the consulting firm appointed by MTWA in the preparation of the Uganda Tourism Development Master Plan 2027–2042. The assignment will generate targeted assessments, inventories, spatial analysis, institutional capacity recommendations, tourism product development plans and specialist technical inputs that strengthen the evidence base and practical orientation of the Master Plan and support the identification and prioritisation of interventions, investments and institutional reforms for sustainable and competitive tourism development.

Period of assignment/services: Eight (80) working days spread across a period of five months from the date of signing the contract.
