Details

Mount Taylor Park (MTP/the site) is located within the local government area of Logan City and the suburb of Slacks Creek. MTP consists primarily of land held as reserve with the State of Queensland (represented by the Department of Natural Resources and Mines, Manufacturing and Regional and Rural Development (NRMMRRD)) being the

trustee. The reserve consists of two main blocks (1CP856115 and 2CP856116) and one minor block (1234SL8168). For operational purposes, MTP also includes Amethyst Street (a concrete path) as well as a fragment of Queens Road (path/steps and grassed area) and Duke Street (grassed/treed area and steps). The total operational area for

MTP is 7.84 ha.

MTP is managed by Technical Services and is open to the public, therefore it is essential to ensure that necessary park maintenance activities continue to ensure the park remains safe and meets user expectations. The main maintenance activity is lawn mowing and weed control with the site also subject to occasional issues related to

homeless encampments, drug use, vandalism, dumped rubbish and tree-related issues (oversized, poor health, rotting or risk of falling over).
