Legal Protection Insurance for Members of the IOM Global Staff Association (GSA)

The International Organization for Migration (IOM), on behalf of its Global Staff Association Committee (GSAC), is conducting preliminary market research to identify insurance brokers, intermediaries and insurance providers with the capacity to arrange or provide specialized legal protection insurance for members of the IOM Global Staff Association. The envisaged insurance arrangement is intended to provide legal protection for dues-paying GSA members in connection with employment-related disputes and grievances arising from their professional activities within IOM. The proposed insurance coverage would include proceedings under IOM's internal justice mechanisms, Requests for Review (RfR), Joint Administrative Review Board (JARB) proceedings, and relevant proceedings before the International Labour Organization Administrative Tribunal (ILOAT), as well as certain disputes involving the United Nations Joint Staff Pension Fund (UNJSPF). The envisaged arrangement would have an initial duration of three years, with a potential extension up to five years. The purpose of this RFI is to assess market availability, broker and insurer capabilities, potential coverage arrangements, indicative pricing structures and possible improvements to the proposed insurance model. This RFI is issued for market research purposes only and does not constitute a solicitation, an offer to contract or a commitment by IOM or GSAC to procure any services.
