2. Information on the Project

Project Description:

Remediation works at the Mailuu-Suu uranium legacy sites Estimated Total Project Value 21,479,810.00 Currency EUR Procurement Type Works Estimated Start Date of Procurement 17/08/2026.

3. Other Information

The Department of Tailings Management (DTM), a department of the Kyrgyz Ministry of Emergency Situations, intends to use Grant proceeds provided by the Environmental Remediation Account for Central Asia (ERA), administrated by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD, "the Bank") under Grant Agreement No 007A to remediate the uranium legacy sites in Mailuu-Suu in the Kyrgyz Republic. The Project will require procurement of works as follows: - Construction Works in Mailuu-Suu (Lot 4) - Environmental Monitoring in Mailuu-Suu (Lot 5) The remediation works include the closure of shafts, adits and sinkholes, the demolition of mining facilities and processing buildings, the covering and/or relocation of uranium tailings ponds and waste rock dumps as well as the construction of river bank protections and diversion channels and, furthermore, the carrying out of radioecological monitoring whilst the remediation works are being carried out. Procurement under this Project will be carried out in accordance with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development's Procurement Policies and Rules (PP&R), Revision 2022.
