Hovedentreprisen omfatter anlægsarbejder i forbindelse med renovering og omdannelse af Akseltorv og Nicolaiplads med nye belægninger, afvanding og inventar, herunder etablering af byrumsmøbler af beton beklædt med teglklinker samt etablering af ny og forbedret belysning af pladsen og ny beplantning bestående af træer og plantebede. Belægninger etableres niveaufrit uden opspring i varierende belægningsmønstre af granitmaterialer og der implementeres taktile belægninger. I entreprisen ændres desuden på eksisterende vejtracé for Bredgade og Adelgade. Begge gader bliver fremover en del af en samlet pladsdannelse på strækningerne ud for Nicolaiplads og Akseltorv.
