Details

This Request for Proposals (the “RFP”) is an invitation by the County of Grande Prairie (“the County”) to qualified consulting firms to submit proposals to provide technical planning, engineering, environmental, mapping, and related consulting services to support preparation of the La Glace Area Concept Plan (ACP) for the Hamlet of La Glace and surrounding lands, as further described in Section A of the Project Overview (Appendix B) (the “RFP Terms of Reference”). The County of Grande Prairie No. 1 is seeking proposals from qualified consulting firms to provide technical studies, technical analysis, mapping, and recommendations in support of the preparation of the La Glace Area Concept Plan (ACP). The Area Concept Plan (ACP) will establish a long-term planning framework for the Hamlet of La Glace and surrounding lands to guide:

  • Future land use;
  • Infrastructure planning;
  • Transportation networks;
  • Environmental stewardship;
  • Community improvements;
  • Future subdivision and development.

The County will remain responsible for project management, public engagement, policy direction, Council reporting, bylaw preparation, and final ACP adoption. The successful consultant will focus on technical analysis, studies, mapping, and technical recommendations. Located in northwestern Alberta, on Treaty 8 Territory and in the Metis Nation of Alberta Zone 6, the County of Grande Prairie is home to a mix of urban and rural communities and immense opportunities. The natural resource-rich area serves as home to a diverse economic base that includes forestry, energy, agriculture, construction and manufacturing, as well as tourism, hospitality and retail. It also offers a playground for locals and visitors, with an abundance of indoor and outdoor recreation and cultural activities to suit any age. THIS PROCUREMENT IS SUBJECT TO THE PROVISIONS OF THE NEW WEST PARTNERSHIP TRADE AGREEMENT (NWPTA) and THE CANADIAN FREE TRADE AGREEMENT (CFTA).

Before you bid on this tender

A quick checklist to help you decide whether to bid and prepare a compliant submission for this transport & logistics opportunity. Always verify the details on the official source.

  • Confirm the exact closing date and time (and time zone) on the official portal — deadlines are strict and can be revised by a corrigendum.
  • Read the full notice and every attached document, including the scope, specifications and any bill of quantities or terms of reference.
  • Check the eligibility criteria — prior similar experience, annual turnover, certifications and registrations — and make sure you qualify before investing effort.
  • Prepare any earnest-money deposit (EMD) or bid security and the required formats early; missing or wrongly-formatted documents are a common cause of rejection.
