Details
Kommunes samfunnsdel ble vedtatt av kommunestyret i Melhus i 2023. Den har 11 hovedmål som ligger til grunn for kommunens utvikling. I tillegg omfatter den en langsiktig arealstrategi for perioden 2023 – 2043. Samfunnsdelen med arealstrategi gir rammer for arbeidet med kommuneplanens arealdel.Arbeidet med gjeldende arealdel ble påbegynt i 2012 og den ble vedtatt i desember 2014. Siden den tid har det skjedd store endringer både innad i kommunen, og mtp. nasjonale, regionale og lokale retningslinjer og lovverk. Pågående arbeid med ny arealdel er derfor omfattende. Planprogram for ny arealdel ble vedtatt 16.12.2025. Kommunen er nå i gang med å utarbeide arealdelens planforslag, og har et ambisiøst mål å legge forslag ut på høring i desember 2026.Ny KPA skal inneholde areal som per nå inngår i kommunedelplan for Gaula, og det skal gjøres en omfattende planvask av kommunens vedtatte reguleringsplaner.
