Le dynamisme démographique du territoire de Thonon Agglomération se traduit par une densification des espaces urbains. Cette densification laisse de moins en moins de place pour la gestion des déchets. La multiplication des points d'apports volontaires (PAV) multiplie d'autant les nuisances pour les usagers et augmente les contraintes liées au stationnement dans les zones où ils sont installés. Dans ce contexte des conteneurs à compaction semblent répondre au besoin de la collectivité : une emprise au sol réduite, un temps de collecte réduit, un nombre de foyers estimés par borne multiplié par 4 ou 5.
