The proposed interventions consist of:

-

Sub-Project: Upgrading of the TAMCC Electrical Laboratory

Description:

The current block, which is located in La Fortune in St. Patrick, consists of a single-storey building with a floor area of approximately 1,885 sq. ft. that currently houses two (2) classrooms (electrical and the drawing room). Additionally, the electrical room has a storage room and an office. The walls are constructed of masonry blocks with a timber roof covered with galvanized roof sheeting. The doors are of timber, and the window openings are secured with aluminum louvers and wire mesh.

Proposed Scope of Work:

The proposed intervention for the sub-project, located in La Fortune, St. Patrick, will involve upgrading and refurbishing the existing block to improve its overall condition and functionality. The existing roof will be assessed and strengthened or replaced where necessary to meet hurricane-resistant standards. The works will also include the installation of new doors and windows with burglar-proofing/protection, floor tiling throughout the facility, the construction of four (4) timber workstations, and upgrades to the electrical system to support air conditioning units. In addition, the facility will be modified to improve accessibility for persons with disabilities and will incorporate a rainwater harvesting system and solar power system to support sustainable and environmentally friendly operations. -

Sub-Project: Construction of Carriere Resource Centre

Proposed Scope of Work:

Upon completion, the two-story tall facility will have a total floor area of approximately 3,500 square feet and will include a main hall with a stage, an agro-processing room with a kitchen, a storage room, a computer room and library, a management office, a fitness room, and washroom facilities. The structure will also feature disability access, a rainwater harvesting system, and will be hurricane resilient. The duration of the assignment is approximately thirty-eight (38) months. The implementation of the two (2) sub-projects may be phased and, accordingly, the commencement and duration of the construction supervision services for each sub-project will be determined by the progress of the works. RDU now invites interested eligible consulting firms to submit Expressions of Interest (EOI) for the provision of these consultancy services.
