For the Professional Development stream, applicants generally need to meet the following requirements: Be a Gold Coast resident. Be an Australian citizen or permanent resident. Hold an Australian Business Number (ABN) in their own name. Be an individual artist, arts professional, or eligible collective. Be actively practising in the arts sector. Organisations may also be eligible where they are based on the Gold Coast or where the proposed activity demonstrates significant outcomes and benefits for the Gold Coast community. Applicants who are not Gold Coast residents must demonstrate clear community benefit and significant outcomes for the Gold Coast. Who Is Not Eligible? The program excludes certain applicants and circumstances.

Applicants may be ineligible if they:

Are current City of Gold Coast Council employees. Are government, semi-government, or political entities. Are Council entities or strategic partner organisations. Have not completed or acquitted previous Council-funded projects. Are ineligible because of a previous Arts Development Fund or equivalent Council grant under the applicable previous-round restrictions. Do not meet the relevant residency, citizenship, ABN, or professional practice requirements. Employees of Experience Gold Coast may apply only if they provide a letter from their employer confirming that the proposed project is not connected to their official employment duties.
