Call for Projects: SEE Special Fund 2027 (Germany and France)

The SEE Special Fund, administered by the Franco-German Youth Office, supports innovative trilateral and multilateral youth exchange and training projects involving France, Germany, and a third partner country. The program aims to bring young people together through educational exchanges, training activities and collaborative projects that strengthen European values, democratic participation and European integration. Projects can run for 1 to 3 years and consist of three encounter phases, with one phase taking place in each participating country. Funding of up to €25,000 per project phase is available, with the overall grant amount depending on the project’s duration and number of participants. Purpose of the SEE Special Fund The SEE Special Fund is designed to encourage young people from different countries to work together and engage with important European social, political and environmental issues.

The program aims to:

- Strengthen European values. - Support European integration. - Promote international youth cooperation. - Encourage democratic participation. - Strengthen remembrance work. - Promote environmental protection and climate action. - Support vocational training and innovation. - Encourage youth entrepreneurship. - Create opportunities for intercultural learning. - Increase participation among young people who have had limited access to mobility programs. Trilateral and Multilateral Cooperation A key feature of the SEE Special Fund is its international structure. Projects bring together participants from: - France. - Germany. - A third partner country. Projects are designed around cooperation between the participating countries rather than isolated national activities. The three encounter phases provide participants with opportunities to meet, learn and collaborate in each partner country. Three Encounter Phases Each supported project consists of three encounter phases. One phase takes place in each partner country. The same group of participants is expected to take part throughout the project cycle, helping participants build long-term relationships and continue their collaborative work across all phases. Each encounter phase must last between 4 and 21 nights. Project Duration Projects can run for between 1 and 3 years. This allows participants and partner organizations to develop longer-term cooperation rather than limiting the initiative to a single meeting. The project structure can provide opportunities for participants to progressively develop knowledge, relationships and collaborative activities across the three phases. Funding Available Selected projects can receive up to €25,000 per project phase. The final amount of funding depends on factors including: - Project duration. - Number of participants. - Structure of the activities. - Number and nature of the encounter phases. Since each project contains three phases, applicants should consider the funding requirements of the entire project when preparing their proposal.
