The SAPRAN Rights Hackathon 2026 invites young teams to develop practical policy proposals addressing human rights issues. This non-coding hackathon, taking place from 7 to 8 November 2026 at the BRAC Learning Centre in Gulshan, aims to bridge the gap between recognized legal rights and their real-life applications. The deadline for applications is 20 October 2026. The SAPRAN Rights Hackathon 2026 aims to transform human rights from theoretical legal concepts into actionable policies. The event targets young people who will collaborate to address human rights challenges, identify institutional responsibilities, and propose feasible solutions.
Participants will compete for the following awards
SAPRAN will cover meals and provide accommodation during the Hackathon. Participants traveling from outside Dhaka will receive a fixed travel allowance. Teams must choose from three thematic areas: This Hackathon provides a platform for young individuals to impact human rights policy. It fosters critical thinking, collaboration, and practical problem solving that can influence future policy directions. Who can apply? Teams of four members, each aged between 18 and 35 years. What are the key dates? Applications close on 20 October 2026. The Hackathon is scheduled for 7–8 November 2026. What support is available for participants? Meals, accommodation, and a travel allowance for those outside Dhaka. What are the thematic areas for proposals? Freedom and Safety in Public and Digital Life, Equal Dignity and Social Coexistence, Rights, Public Institutions, and Accountability. What awards are available?
