Successful scholars receive full financial support for their studies and living costs in the UK. What Does the Scholarship Cover? The scholarship provides comprehensive financial support for eligible scholars.

Support includes:

- Full tuition fees. - Monthly living allowance. - Travel costs to and from the UK. - Additional grants for essential expenditure related to studying in the UK. This funding is intended to cover the main costs associated with undertaking a one-year master’s degree in the United Kingdom. Study Duration and University Choice Successful applicants can pursue a one-year master’s degree.

The programme allows scholars to study:

- Any subject. - At any UK university. Applicants must still ensure that their selected courses meet the programme’s eligibility requirements. Who Can Apply? The programme is open to citizens of Peru who meet the academic, professional, university application, and return-home requirements.

Applicants must:

- Be citizens of Peru. - Have completed an undergraduate degree at least two years before the application deadline. - Have at least two years of work experience. - Apply to three different eligible UK university courses. - Receive an unconditional offer from at least one eligible course by the specified deadline. - Commit to returning to Peru for at least two years after completing their studies. Undergraduate Degree Requirement Applicants must have completed an undergraduate degree at least two years before the application deadline. Candidates should therefore ensure that their undergraduate qualification meets the required timing condition before submitting an application. Work Experience Requirement Applicants must have at least two years of work experience. The work experience requirement is intended to ensure that candidates have developed professional experience before undertaking their master’s studies in the UK. UK University Applications Applicants are required to apply to three different eligible UK university courses. Candidates must also receive an unconditional offer from at least one of these eligible courses by the specified deadline. Applicants should therefore begin their university applications early enough to meet the scholarship’s requirements and relevant deadlines. Commitment to Return to Peru A key condition of the programme is that scholars return to Peru after completing their studies. Successful applicants must commit to returning to Peru for at least two years following completion of their master’s degree. The return requirement reflects the programme’s objective of developing professionals who can contribute to their country’s development. Who Is Not Eligible? Certain applicants are excluded from the programme.

Applicants are ineligible if they:

- Hold British citizenship. - Hold dual British citizenship, except where limited exceptions apply. - Are resident in the UK at the time of application. - Have previously studied in the UK on a UK government-funded scholarship, unless the applicable exception for a completed Chevening Fellowship applies. - Have not met the required five-year period since completing a Chevening Fellowship, where that exception is relevant. - Are employees or immediate relatives of certain UK government departments or partner organisations covered by the eligibility restrictions. British or Dual British Citizenship Applicants who hold British citizenship are generally not eligible. Those holding dual British citizenship are also generally ineligible, subject to limited exceptions. Candidates should carefully check their citizenship status against the programme’s eligibility requirements before applying. UK Residency Restriction Applicants must not be resident in the UK at the time of application. The programme is intended to support eligible professionals from Peru to undertake their studies in the UK and subsequently return to Peru. Previous UK Government-Funded Scholarships Applicants who have previously studied in the UK through a UK government-funded scholarship are generally ineligible. An exception may apply to applicants who completed a Chevening Fellowship at least five years before the relevant application. Candidates with previous UK scholarship experience should carefully review the applicable eligibility conditions. Employees and Immediate Relatives Employees of certain UK government departments and partner organisations may be excluded from applying. The restriction also applies to immediate relatives of certain employees, according to the programme’s eligibility rules.
