Applications Invited for Atlassian Foundation Open Call for Proposals 2026 Reshaping Education for the AI Era

Organization: Atlassian Foundation

Apply By: 30 Oct 2026

About the Grant

The Atlassian Foundation is deploying US$8 million over the next two years to help learners from under-resourced communities thrive in the AI era. It is inviting proposals from registered nonprofits that are driving collective action to improve education for disadvantaged learners. Collective action means multiple players (schools, nonprofits, NGOs, government, the private sector and communities) working together through shared goals, delivery and learning. The call is not about AI for AI’s sake, but about how the education sector responds to this technological shift so that emerging technology closes gaps for learners the current system leaves behind.

Funding:

- Up to US$1 million per partnership over two years. - A learning cohort for peer-to-peer knowledge exchange. - Non-financial support, including Atlassian tools and expertise.

Eligibility

- Open globally to registered nonprofits. - The initiative must meet all three criteria:

- Direct relief of disadvantage: work that directly relieves poverty or disadvantage for a clearly identified beneficiary group.

- Collective action: multiple players working together through shared goals, delivery and learning to solve systemic challenges that no single organisation can tackle alone. - Evolving education in the AI era: initiatives helping education evolve so that emerging technology closes gaps for disadvantaged learners. Where AI is used, its use should be deliberate and appropriate, with risks and safeguards considered. Where AI is not used, the reason should be equally well considered.

Focus area: Education, AI and education, collective action, disadvantaged learners.
