Who buys agriculture & food in Nepal

These are the organisations with the most agriculture & food notices open in Nepal right now. Buyers in this sector tend to repeat — following the few that award the work you do is usually more productive than watching the market as a whole.

How they buy

Nepali public procurement is published through the Public Procurement Monitoring Office's e-bidding system and by individual entities including ministries, provincial and local governments, and utilities. Donor-financed infrastructure forms a large share of higher-value work.

Across the agriculture & food notices we currently hold for Nepal, the most common form is the request for proposal, followed by request for quotation and open tender or invitation to bid. Each has its own rules — see RFP, RFQ and EOI compared and tendering procedures explained.

What qualifies you

Bidders need company registration, PAN or VAT registration, tax clearance for the relevant fiscal year, and normally an e-bidding account. Works categories apply classification and prior-experience requirements, and joint ventures with local firms are usual on larger internationally funded contracts.

Agriculture and food tenders span seeds, fertilisers, farm machinery, irrigation, food supply and processing, and rural-development schemes. Many are seasonal, so deadlines and delivery windows are tight. Check quality standards, packaging and delivery-location requirements, and whether supply is centralised or split across districts.

Before committing effort, it is worth running a deliberate bid/no-bid decision and checking your submission against the responsiveness checklist.
