Details

RFx ID: 35168564 Organisation: Whakatane District Council Open date: Friday, 9 October 2026 2:30 PM +13:00 Close date: Friday, 30 October 2026 3:00 PM +13:00 Categories: 77000000 - Environmental Services 77111600 - Environmental rehabilitation Region: Bay of Plenty Overview: Whakatāne District Council is seeking proposals from suitably qualified and experienced ecological restoration contractors to deliver the Whakatane Valley Road Restoration Project. The works involve preparation of a restoration plan and the staged restoration of approximately 3.8 hectares of Council-owned land at Valley Road, Whakatāne. The project includes pest plant management, site preparation, indigenous planting, establishment maintenance, monitoring, infill planting and final handover. The restoration will establish a healthy, resilient and self-sustaining indigenous forest that enhances biodiversity, supports long-term carbon sequestration and meets Council’s Emissions Trading Scheme obligations. This is an opportunity for contractors to apply specialist expertise in ecological restoration, native forest establishment and pest plant management on a complex site with steep terrain, restricted access and important environmental, archaeological and cultural values. The successful supplier will have the opportunity to work collaboratively with Council to deliver a long-term environmental legacy for Whakatāne and demonstrate an effective restoration approach that may inform future Council projects.

  • Read the full notice and every attached document, including the scope, specifications and any bill of quantities or terms of reference.
  • Check the eligibility criteria — prior similar experience, annual turnover, certifications and registrations — and make sure you qualify before investing effort.
