Ministry of Shipping invites tenders for The Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Authority (BIWTA) maintains a large volume of historical and operational records in physical form, including office files, letters, notes, maps, images, charts, audio recordings, video recordings and other archival materials.A significant portion of these records is currently maintained in physical files and requires systematic preservation, indexing, digitization and controlled electronic access. To improve document preservation, information retrieval, institutional knowledge management and service efficiency, BIWTA intends to establish a centralized Digital Archive / e-Archive System.The proposed system will digitize and preserve approximately 300,000 pages of documents, together with relevant maps, images, charts, audio and video materials. Scanning of physical documents shall be conducted on-site at BIWTA offices under the supervision and control of BIWTA.The system shall provide secure, role-based access to digitized records originating from 17 BIWTA departments, with departmental segregation and access control. The system shall support both Bangla and English interfaces and shall provide Bangla OCR with a minimum required accuracy of 90% for suitable machine-readable documents. The procurement nature is Services. It is being run by Selection under a Fixed Budget (SFB). The source of funds is Government. The inviting office is in Dhaka.
