TENDER NOTICE

1. Background

WaterAid India proposes the rejuvenation and restoration of Bada Talab located in Village Sahnipur, Gram Panchayat Rasoolpur, Block Bhitaura, District Fatehpur, Uttar Pradesh to improve rural wastewater (greywater) management, groundwater recharge, and environmental sustainability. The pond receives greywater from approximately 136 households through multiple inlets drains, resulting in siltation, floating solid waste, algal growth, and deterioration of water quality.'

The intervention aims to restore the ecological and functional value of the pond through scientific pond rejuvenation measures, greywater treatment systems, catchment improvement, plantation, and community participation. The project will demonstrate a sustainable, naturebased approach to rural wastewater management while enhancing public health, biodiversity, and water conservation.

2. Objectives and Location Profile

Improve groundwater recharge and conserve surface runoff.

Enhance the environmental quality and ecological health of the pond.

Prevent wastewater stagnation and reduce public health risks.

Promote community participation in planning, implementation, and maintenance.

Develop a sustainable and low-maintenance wastewater treatment system using naturebased solutions

Location Profile

The proposed project site is Bada Talab, located in Village Sahnipur, Gram Panchayat Rasoolpur, Block Bhitaura, District Fatehpur, Uttar Pradesh. The village comprises approximately 136 households with a population of around 830. The pond covers an area of approximately 9,452 square metres with an average depth of about 2 metres. It receives greywater from nearly 136 households as well as runoff from adjoining agricultural fields through four major inlet drains and several minor drainage channels. The pond is situated at the downstream end of the village and is near the Government Primary School and the Anganwadi Centre, making its restoration important from both environmental and public health perspectives Interested Bidders are required to submit their complete proposal along with all terms and conditions to Email id: WAIProcurementUP@wateraid.org by 14 August 2026 w hich should necessarily include:
