Die Polizei und das Bundesamt für Zoll und Grenzsicherheit (BAZG) sind im Rahmen ihrer Aufgaben auf eine zuverlässige und effiziente Identitätsprüfung angewiesen. Fingerabdruckdaten spielen dabei eine zentrale Rolle, sowohl bei Routinekontrollen als auch bei kriminaltechnischen Ermittlungen. Die Rahmenvereinbarung für die bisherigen Geräte läuft aus. PTI Schweiz beschafft einen Rahmenvertrag mit einem Integrator für die Bereitstellung, Integration und den Betrieb von zwei Systemen zur Erfassung von Fingerabdrücken: einem mobilen System (Scanner am Smartphone der Polizistinnen und Polizisten) sowie einem kontaktlosen System (App-basierte Erfassung von Fingerabdrücken und Gesichtsbildern über iPhones, angebunden an MACS/eneXs). Über den Rahmenvertrag sollen die PTI-Partner (u.a. fedpol, BAZG, SEM, kantonale und kommunale Polizeikorps sowie Schweizerische Vertretungen im Ausland) Systeme und Dienstleistungen von der Zuschlagsempfängerin beziehen können.
